This coin commemorates the Devil’s Brigade that was comprised of American and Canadian volunteers during WWII.
The reverse features the shoulder patch design used from 1942-1944 of an arrowhead with the countries of USA and CANADA written on it. Below are two arrows representing both countries’ unity and the date. To the left of the arrowhead is a star representing the stars and stripes of the United States while to the left of the arrowhead is a maple leaf representing Canada. Struck on the top rim is the denomination 5 DOLLARS, while along the bottom rim is inscribed First Special Service Force in English and French. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
